F. H. Sarwar is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, New York University Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. His research focuses on development economics, especially the topics of social and ethnic inequalities, policy effectiveness, and economic growth and development. He is a regular contributor to the Global Economics Handbook (IOS Press), and the World Bank’s Doing Business project. He is also a research advisor for the Innovate UK. His writing has been featured in a wide range of publications including World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, and the Journal of Economic Perspectives. He has held research positions at the University of Oxford, and the London School of Economics, and lectured in the United States, New Zealand, China, and India.
