Another example is when you are using a music console with StationPlaylist Studio, since its built-in streamer is not capable of recording the resulting mix and encode it.

StationPlaylist Streamer comes with a simple and user-friendly interface that enables you to easily configure the audio input and the encoding settings, all from a single window. You can adjust the sample rate, the input device, the buffer size and the recording volume.
The application integrates a set of predefined processors that can compress and prepare the captured audio signal for broadcasting. You can choose between a 250-band equalizer, SPL Tone Detector, Sound Solution and Tomass Limiter.
What this application actually does is capture the original signal as issued by the sound card and send it to the selected limiter or processor, which passes it to the encoder, creating the output.
